Design Engineer & Manufacturing Engineer for the X10 Drone
A core mechanical creator of the x10 drone, from prototype to mass production
-
I designed over 30 parts used in the drone, in addition to performing DFA/DFM on the arm, battery charger, and night autonomy subassemblies
-
I built the assembly lines for the four arms on the X10, as well as multiple accessory lines. I was the first engineer to ever use automated equipment, and increased throughput by 400%
-
I led the manufacturing design of the drone joint points, connections, & interfaces. I had to design robust solutions in as small of a footprint as possible.
Elevating Skydio
I was the manufacturing design engineer responsible for all the decisions you see that were made in this video
Transitioned the drone from using magnesium and unfilled PC to glass and carbon-filled polycarbonates to increase thickness without adding weight
Implemented ultrasonic welding to increase strength and decrease weight without using screws or snaps
Performed cross-sectional analyses on the daily
The blue arrows point to components and subassemblies that I heavily worked on (wish I could have pointed at everything, but that would look messy)
