Designed and optimized a portable solar tracking prototype that measures the position of the sun over time, ambient temperature, and irradiance.
With Eric Brown and Ian Kaneshiro
Solar cells are most effective when they directly face the sun. However, the sun changes position over the course of a day. In order for the solar panels to generate the maximum amount of power, they must always be facing the sun. Thus, we designed and optimized a portable solar tracking prototype that can wirelessly report position of the sun over time, ambient temperature, and irradiance.
